Used Environmental Cars

Veganism is about animals, health, and the environment. Electric cars are very important to our environment and thus veganism. Some say that electric cars are too expensive for us to purchase. That is not true.

I found used electric cars for as low as $4,000 on ebay. Electric car prices have been increasing but are still bargains.

I have owned several used hybrids which includes eleven Toyota Prius' over the years starting with the first generation plus two Chevy Volts. I am still driving a 2018 Chevy Volt.

I have owned three Nissan Leafs starting with a new 2011 then going up to a used 2015. I now own a new 2019 Nissan Leaf. So now I own a hybrid and a pure electric. I love both of them.

Here is my evaluation: I would recommend a used pure electric car like a used Nissan Leaf if you are going to use it to drive around town. The older ones get around 90 miles on a charge. The new ones get either 150 mile on a charge or 238 miles. They are fantastic cars and I have loved all three of mine. I could strongly recommend an older Nissan Leaf. If you look around you will find one for a low price. They are great for a car to drive around town. If you want to save more then get an older one with a little body damage.

If you go out of town a lot then go for a Chevy Volt. My first one was a 2013. The one problem is that it runs an premium gas while the newer ones (second generation) uses regular gas. The latest generation will drive 53 miles on electric only. Then it drives on gas for an additional 380 miles. If you are hundreds of miles out of town then you can continue driving on just gas unless you get a charge.

I love both of my 2019 Nissan Leaf and my 2018 Chevy Volt. If you want a great car for a great price get a used Leaf or a used Volt. You can not go wrong with either. Of my two mentioned above, I like the Leaf better.

Here is my recommendation: Purchase a used Leaf to drive around town on a daily basic and either rent or own an older gas car for long distances. In most cases it is better to rent if you only go out of town once or twice a year. If you travel out of the range then it is better to own a gas car in addition to a Leaf or other pure electric car. Of course you can have both, an electric car and a hybrid car. That is especially good for married couples since both need a car.
